Steely Dan. Steely Dan is an American rock band consisting of core members Donald Fagen and Walter Becker. The band's popularity peaked in the late s, with the release of seven albums blending elements of jazz, rock, funk, R&B, and gardanakalenfefyn.xyzinfog Stone has called them "the perfect musical antiheroes for the Seventies.".

Steely Dan's sophomore release shows the band flexing their muscles with longer and more complex arrangements, soaring straight out of the gate with Bodhisattva which showcases Jeff "Skunk" Baxter. Through the colourful melodies and smooth grooves it's easy to overlook the darkness of the lyrics, I for the longest time never realised that Steely Dan were the kings of bitter wit and cynicism.
