AllMusic Review by Thom Owens. Walls of Time is a fine slice of traditional bluegrass and country, performed by several of the finest newgrass performers, including Sam Bush, Ricky Skaggs, and the Rowan siblings. Though the album focuses on vocal material, not instrumental, it remains an enjoyable, heartfelt evocation of classic bluegrass by some of the very best progressive bluegrass musicians of 6/

While it's impossible for anyone to go wrong with picking up any of his CD's, "Walls of Time" is my personal favorite. Recorded in the early '80's, this collection (sans cuts 7,8, and 9, which were recorded on a different album and protrude notably from the rest of the songs) found Rowan in a somewhat reflective/introspective state of mind/5(7).
